Back and Neck Relief Center

When you are suffering with pain in your
body, and you don’t know where to get relief, a chiropractor can help you in that situation.  If you would choose a medical doctor, he or she would prescribe you medication which can harm your body and affect your healing process.  Chiropractors use various therapy methods and do not prescribe drugs or surgery. Pain is a natural process, and often it is an alarm in your body letting you know something is wrong. When one realizes that their pain is indicating something is wrong in their body, taking the correct step in treating the pain is vital in the healing process for long term health.

Educational and licensing requirements for doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.s) are among the most stringent of any healthcare profession. Doctors of Chiropractic are educated and nationally accredited 4 year doctoral graduate school programs. The typical applicant at a chiropractic college has already acquired nearly 4 years of pre-medical undergraduate college education. The Chiropractic doctor is an expert in body mechanics, and they are able to detect and correct spinal misalignment to restore normal joint motion and take pressure off the nerves.

Chiropractic methods bring the body back to active conditions faster than that of traditional doctors. There are many studies out there that show the health benefits of chiropractic treatment compared to traditional medical treatment.  One study showed that 80 percent of people in the last two years reduced stress by consulting with chiropractors instead of traditional doctors. The spine or other parts of the body are manipulated in chiropractic treatments.  There are many methods that can be used to help heal a patient from stress and pain in their body.  Some methods that are used are specific exercises, stretching, relaxation techniques, cold laser therapy, vibration plates, acupuncture, flexion/distraction tables, wobble chairs, nutritional counseling, functional medicine, massage, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, intersegmental traction, scoliosis chairs, chiropractic manipulation and many more.  Chiropractic treatment can improve the overall health of people suffering from neck pain, back pain, headaches, plantar fasciitis, peripheral neuropathy, disc problems, shoulder pain, knee pain, foot/ankle pain, and injuries. Chiropractic also work together with traditional medical procedures.

There are many reasons why people consult a Chiropractic Physician. Some of the reasons are sports injurywork injury and auto injury. Many sports chiropractors treat a variety of ailments that athletes experience. Some of the common injuries that occur in athletes are hip, knee, foot, neck and lower back.  Volleyball, baseball and tennis players suffer from shoulder bio-mechanical problems secondary to spinal misalignment. Athletes as well as the weekend warrior should visit a chiropractor to make a plan of action to avoid future or current problems that may be causing stress to the body. Over time, improper bio-mechanics can lead to pain and injury. Sport performance is greatly enhanced with chiropractic treatment.
Some of the work related injuries typically seen at a chiropractic office are neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, knee and hand injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome.

Many cases that are seen by chiropractors are also related to auto accidents. Often patients are told after viewing their X-Rays that they just have muscle spasms, and to take muscle relaxers and other pain medications. Actually, these patients after a whiplash type of injury have micro-tears that occur inside the muscles and or ligaments that can lead to scarring inside the tissue, and become a future source of chronic pain syndromes. If the proper treatment is not performed after an auto accident then many of these patients could end up with long term problems from an auto accident that occurred years ago. Chiropractic care facilitates the body’s natural healing process, so that the potential for scarring and damage to the injured tissue is greatly reduced.
